Our 11-year-old Westie received shocking treatment at the hands of this vet practice, while she was already an extremely sick dog in a lot of pain. When I collected her from the practice following an ultrasound investigation, I noticed her belly had been cut in several places with the hair clippers. Nobody informed us what had happened when I picked her up, it was being hidden from us. It was only when I put our dog down on the floor, and she winced around towards her belly, that I noticed areas of broken skin slathered in gel. I almost burst into tears at the damage to her belly. Even the top of one of her nipples had been clippered off! When I asked to speak to one of the Partners about her injuries at the time, he appeared huffing and puffing and told me he’d just done a 14-hour shift and “didn’t really need this” (me complaining to him about her injuries.) I was made to feel like my concern for our dog was a massive inconvenience. On top of her being very poorly, the cuts were so painful and nippy for her that she had to wear a ‘baby grow’ garment for 5 days until the scabs healed. I called the Practice Manager the next day and she sent us an email to “apologise for the injury Twiggy sustained on clipping her abdomen.” However, that gave us little solace while watching our dog struggle with both her painful condition and now a belly with cuts and grazes on it. Not only were they unable to suggest why our dog was sick after multiple visits to the practice and expensive procedures, we believe they delayed referring her to Dick Vet Hospital in Edinburgh where she was diagnosed with cancer in her spinal column. If only they had taken the time to study the 2 short videos I’d emailed through to reception showing our dogs symptoms, they might have realised how serious her condition was. (The Partner who performed her ultrasound admitted he hadn’t had time to watch them!) Lastly, I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect, given the negligent treatment our dog suffered while in their care, that someone from Wilson & Partners should have called to ask how she was doing after they discharged her. If not a call from her acting vet, then surely from the Practice Manager (who’s manner incidentally has always been quite curt and condescending.) However, after we paid the invoice, we heard not a peep from them again. Customer care is obviously not their priority, and we are disgusted at how our dog was treated here. Avoid this vet practice at all costs as they’re all far too busy to care.

I find they charge too much, you very rarely get to see the same vet twice and the wait is an absolute nightmare.
